In 2005 singer Dannii enrolled as an Ambassador for Young People with the Terrence Higgins Trust, the UK's leading HIV and sexual health charity. One of Dannii’s roles has been to help campaign and lobby for greater political and public understanding of the personal, social and medical impact of HIV and AIDS and importance of safer sex. Dannii hopes her endorsement will help make the subject more acceptable to be openly discussed.

“It takes politicians, it takes school teachers, it takes parents, it takes volunteers. The charity can’t survive or do it alone, but I want to try to help and get the message across. The charity have an incredible team of volunteers and this terrifying disease can be controlled, but it takes education, something every-one of us deserves. Every single penny counts and directly helps thousands of British people with HIV live better” - explains Dannii.

Dannii has been working with HIV and sexual health charities in both the UK and Australia since the 1980s. “We're really excited that Dannii is working with us to get safer sex messages out to young people. She's a brilliant role model for teenagers and her energy and empathy are a great asset to our work" says Genevieve Clark of Terrence Higgins Trust.
